CONTEXT
An inventory manager of a specialty chemical supplier realized that orders from one of their delivery plants kept failing irregularly while its alternate delivery plants had scope for further utilization.
RESOLUTION
Our Data Warehousing & Business Intelligence consultants envisioned a solution of automatically re-routing orders to an alternate delivery plant which had the stock in inventory. We teamed up with the company’s Materials Management department in order to guide them in digitizing their inventory which eventually created a robust supply chain management system.
RESULT
The automatic re-routing of orders solved operational problems, reduced the manual work associated with order matching, decreased order failure rate/order return rate and optimized inventory levels.
