Context:
Our healthcare client was conducting a clinical trial to determine whether a new cancer drug improves overall survival compared to standard treatment and to provide statistical evidence for regulatory submission and clinical decision making.
Resolution:
To solve this, a simple tool was developed by our specialized team to check for outliers in survival times, encode categorical variables as factors, visualize survival probability over time for each treatment group, test whether survival distributions differ significantly between groups, and estimate hazard ratios HR for treatment effect while adjusting for covariates. The team used data wrangling and statistical modelling.
Result:
The team successfully demonstrated the efficacy of the cancer drug in prolonging survival, provided evidence for FDA and EMA approval, and translated statistical results into medical insights.
