Context:
The client wanted to track influenza like illness ILI trends across multiple regions to identify outbreaks early and allocate resources effectively.

Resolution:
Our team developed SAS models to analyze regional influenza trends and detect early spikes in influenza cases in two regions about two to three weeks before hospital admissions surged. Forecasting allowed the agency to pre-position vaccines and antiviral drugs.

Result:
SAS proved highly effective for epidemiological surveillance, particularly with time series forecasting, enabling earlier outbreak detection and better resource planning.
